"The Sontag award was the first major award that I received and supported the work of my first graduate student. Another perhaps even more valuable and special aspect of being a Sontag DSA awardee is the camaraderie and friendship I have with other scientists. Being a member of the Sontag family has brought me professional recognition and much personal satisfaction and friendships that will last a lifetime."
