2022 Sontag Award Recipient

"The funding from the DSA will enable me to be part of a rich community of investigators and to push my research forward using new models and ideas to explore how normal development is a core aspect of tumor biology. We hope this will improve our understanding and treatment of this devastating cancer."

About DSA-Funded Research

Dr. Bhaduri's lab will explore how programs that are normally used to promote normal brain development are reactivated in glioblastoma brain tumors. To explore these questions, they will use a cortical organoid transplantation model of the cancer to investigate how the tumor microenvironment impacts the cells and their lineage. Using these new models and approaches, they hope to understand how the tumor reacts in different environments in order to predict tumor response and to devise new treatment options for patients.
