Kay joined The Sontag Foundation as its first Executive Director in 2002. Kay retired from that role in December 2019. During the early years of her career as a social worker, Kay worked in both the private and public sectors advocating for the safety of children and seniors. She took a hiatus from her career to nurture her own children, then pursued graduate studies in guidance and counseling before returning to the non-profit sector. Kay’s experience creating and implementing programs served her well as Executive Director of The Boselli Foundation for six years before joining The Sontag Foundation. Kay also served as the first Executive Director of The Brain Tumor Network. Kay and her husband, Gary, have lived in Ponte Vedra Beach since 1990 and have two grown sons, David and Scott. During their leisure time, Kay and Gary enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, especially camping (but not exactly roughing it) in their Airstream.
